Will has extensive experience in the industrial electrical sector, working on manufacturing and processing plants, including dairy processing facilities. His specialist experience includes motor control, automation, PLC panels and instrumentation, giving him the knowledge and capability to take on complex industrial electrical projects.

Who we are

Alongside Will's industrial expertise, Bream Bay Electrical provides a wide range of electrical services for residential and commercial customers, including new installations, renovations, lighting, heat pumps and ventilation, solar, and alarms and security. We are a locally based business focused on providing quality workmanship, reliable service and practical electrical solutions for every project. Based in Ruakaka, we service Bream Bay, Maungaturoto, Mangawhai and through to Whangarei.

Over the past six years we have completed more than 1,000 jobs for our core customers: 150+ industrial, 200+ commercial and 700+ residential. We currently have five full-time staff, and we can supplement the core team with trusted local subcontractors for larger projects and busier periods.

Will's background

Before establishing Bream Bay Electrical, Will spent around 10 years working directly within major industrial facilities, as an Electrical and Instrument Technician at Fonterra Maungaturoto and as an Electrical Technician at Refining NZ at Marsden Point. Since 2019 he has added the experience of owning and running a quality electrical contracting business serving industrial, commercial and residential clients throughout Northland.

His industrial experience covers PLC and VSD fault finding, industrial instrumentation, control valves and motors, switchgear, hazardous-area electrical work, shutdown work, safety PLC installations and industrial project delivery. His qualifications and training include Electrical Engineering Level 5 (Advanced Trade), Industrial Measurement and Control Level 4, and Electrical Apparatus in Explosive Atmospheres training. You can read how that is applied on our industrial electrical services page and in our automation and instrumentation work.

What we stand for

Clear communication, meeting expectations on every job, and good relationships with customers, other trades and the wider community. In practice that means turning up when we say we will, explaining what we found and what it will cost before we do it, and leaving a job finished, tested and tidy.
